A Cup of Cold Water to Your Prophet - Part 5

Text: Mark 6:1-6, 1 Thess. 5:12-14

MEMORY VERSE: Mark 6:4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

It is truely remarked that most pastors are not valued in their churches because of familiarity or lack seeing the importance of it. When they go out, God moves in such a surprising way beause those that they meet outside their church hold them in HIGH ESTEEM OR HIGH REGARD. It is not new because Jesus faced the same challenge, but it is not a blessing to anyone who dishonours the prophet of God sent to bless his life and destiny. When Jesus saw the same thing in his own village, he was marvelled because of the unbelief. Are you one of them who dishonour the servant of God, don't forget his anointing cannot bless your life and family. Psalm 105:15, Matt. 13:55-58

  1. Men and women chosen by God are GIFTS to every generation to bless their life, famlily, work or business, and to change the verdicts of the devil in times of trouble. John 1:6
  2. Think back, if you are properly connected to your propeht, if not change and begin to do something from now. When your car breaks down, you need a mechanic; when the tyre punctures you need a vulcaniser, when you need to travel by air you need a pilot, when you are sick you need a medical doctor, and when you are in need for spiritual direction to help you on this heavenly journey, you need a pastor, non of these profession is more important than the pastor, we have said this several times but the pastor is the most despised, neglected and seen as nothing. Matt 13:55-56
  3. When you destroy the fountain of a river, you will never drink the water any longer because you have made it to be dirty. You cannot flow with a river you are not connected to, you cannot be blessed by the anointing you never value, Jesus was surprised even in his own country, village and house. Ex 2:11-15
  4. There are prophets both good and false, but the prophet at the top of this great commission Dominion Faith Int Missions is Bishop Joseph Ozoemelam James, yet in every parish there are sons of the prophet appointed to care for those places. Do you truely value them in your heart. What we say sometimes with out mouth is different from what we think in our mind and what we have in our heart and do. We have seen people being invested upon, yet they despised and turned against the same anointing that has made them, do you think God keeps quiet even when His servants keep quiet? God wants to bless you; never join those who despise or speak evil of the prophets of God.Luke 11:14-20

  1. Your man of God or prophet may not ask you anything even when he or she is in need because they are not beggars, but think within yourself and seek out what to begin to do constantly to help or bless him as long as he or she lives. For examlpe many pastors wives are so neglected that they are sometimes frustrated and discouraged to continue the work of the ministry. Do you think that pastors' wives are improtant? Do you think their children are improtant? Do you think they deserve anything good? Answer the questions in your heart, but this question should be aksed generally in the church also. Ex 28:1-4, Heb. 5:4-6, Acts 4:32-37, Acts 16:14-15.
  2. Dont wait for death to come upon your prophet before you look for the best flower to offer to his or her dead body. Those flowers in those days will be valueless, a dead person cannot perceive the fragrance or good odour of the flower. Let them have their flowers (Cars, buildings, money, shoes, cloths, electronic gadgets and whatsoever you have for them) while they are still alive. What you think is too big to give to the pastor, many people in other churches see it as TRASH OR TOO SMALL FOR THE PASTOR. When you see the pastor using the same suit, shoe, tie etc always, don't you think if you don't help and change it, you are blind while your two eyes are very well open. Luke 7:36, Phil 5:12-13, John 12:1-8.
  3. Don't imitate the attitude of some people who think that the man of God has no future. 1 Tim. 5:17-18
  4. Many don't think good of their leader, they are there criticising, finding faults, they are waiting for the man to die to give him a befitting burial that people will see or hear and say, of a truth this man of God is well buried. That is nonsense. 1 Cor. 7:13-14.
  5. What you do at death has no reward at all like what you did for the man when he is in need or when he can still use it. You can only have reward during his burial if you have been caring for such person properly. Matt 26:10-13.
  6. God has ordained it that "THE LESS IS BLESSED BY THE BETTER", the inferior is blessed by the superiror, but you must properly connect your self to be blessed by this order of anointing. Heb 7:7

  1. Pastors pray for you even when they are in trouble and no body is there to help him, yet without complaints. Isa. 53:2-5
  2. Pastors will be in great pains and yet will give attention to members or people that in lesser pain, yet unnoticed. Matt. 25:31-46
  3. Pastors will fast and pray and yet may have no food to break the fast just because he is looking for your good. Gal. 6:6-10
  4. Pastors will accommodate, feed and take care of people, yet when the same people become something, he will be forgotten, sometimes insulted and deserted. Mark 6:4
  5. Pastors will keep their afflictions to themselves just to avoid you from being discouraged and yet when discovered people will say it is his sin and he lacks faith not knowing he is a man before he becomes a pastor. 1 Tim. 5:17-18
  6. Pastors may have little domestic challenges but it will be the talk of people and mean while he keeps your problems secrets to himself. 1 Thess 5:12-14
  7. Many Pastors are in pain, let's pray, show love, give and care for these faithful Pastors. Most of us only see the few that are flamboyant and live a luxurious life we don't see those suffering. Awake and do the right thing! Matt. 10:40-42

If you are planted in a ministry by God and you are sure you are sent by God, never uproot yourself and go up and down from one place to another place, you will surely have root down-ward and bear fruit upward if you continue to remain where God has planted you. Psalm 92:12-15. Remember that God's anointed that you honour or dishonour is a man sent to your life to bless you and family. He is chosen by God to take your life and family to heigher heights and for a great future 2 kings 4:1-7
